heretical space*

The project critically looks at the three
projection planes that geometrically define
the space in visual representation. Art, Architecture and Design have used
this volume as a technical lexicon to
visualize, project and communicate their
ortographic ideas to the world. After the 1st and 2nd Industrial
Revolution, this language has become a
standard and and emblematic source of
codification for the industrial market, as it
allows artifacts - be it buildings, printings
or tools - to be serially produced in
massive quantities at global scale.
By transforming these standard projection
planes from ‘Horizontal, Frontal, Profile’
to ‘Pragmatic / Utopian / Emotional’ — thus creating a new metaphorical
narrative for this aseptic, intangible place
— the ortographic space now becomes
HERETICAL.
The HERETICAL SPACE is a volume of
freedom. A place for designers to be born again, far
from the academy, far from the industry,
far from the market. Inside of the heretical space, it is indeed
possible to let go of our sins as designers
and purify, in order to evolve into artists
who are not afraid to express and manifest
their utopian ideologies and deepest
emotions. It is, as far as we can guess, a maiden
playground for experimentation and
dreams in contrast with the pragmatic
apocalypse that we are witnessing around
us everyday.
